On 17th of July of 2009 in Courtyard Marriott non governmental organizations “Dog Organization Georgia”, “Georgian Society for Protection and Saving of Animals” and “Animal Rights Committee” made official memorandum of collaboration, the main purpose of which is animal rights protection. Noted document considers cooperation of these organizations on working out of drafts of legal acts, for inculcation of norms of humane treatment of animals and for creation of better environment for animals.
“Dog organization Georgia” is newly created organization and it is led by Dutch young person Ivo Bukhausen. Initiator of making the memorandum and idea of collaboration is exactly this organization, the area of activity of which is building a shelter for stray dogs, giving them care and looking for patrons for them. “Dog Organization Georgia” provides their vaccination, treatment and sterilization. For conducting these activities Municipality of Tbilisi gave to Dog Organization of Georgia 2000 square meter plot. Construction works will commence in nearest future.
GSPSA greets its new partner’s initiative and expresses hope that this idea will be embodied in the nearest future and these organizations will collaborate for protection and saving of street animals.
