26 896 animals were killed by the commercial firm “Debute” Ltd., - the contractor of the Tbilisi municipality, during 19 months
On the basis of the official documentation provided by the Tbilisi Municipality, which was received by "Georgian Society for Protection and Saving of Animals" upon the request, 26 896 animals/ mainly unattended dogs/ were killed by the commercial firm "Debute" Ltd., - the same as the First Veterinary Clinic, the contractor of the Tbilisi municipality, during 19 months. According to this informationduring 19 months the average indicator of animal killing for 19 months made 99.63%. 26 896 dogs are killed /mainly dogs/ only 73 animals were castrated and only 11 dogs were vaccinated against rabies.
At the same time "Georgian Society for Protection and Saving of Animals" thinks that in the city unimaginable action of mass murder of animals is going on. Murder of Unsheltered animals is a dangerous and ineffective method, which doesn't solve the problem of animal population growth.
"Georgian Society for Protection and Saving of Animals" expresses its worry and outrage because of noted fact and calls the municipality of the city to immediately stop the permanent destruction of animals through contracting firm and solve the issue by means of civilized methods.
