Wednesday January 27th, 2021
GSPSA continues the charity program "Help the Strays".
On March 20, 2020, the Georgian Society for the Protection and Safety of Animals - GSPSA launched a charity, the emergency program "Help the Strays."
---
The program aimed to provide food assistance to homeless animals in a state of intolerance caused by the COVID-19 crisis and alleviate their suffering. The focus was mainly on those regions of Georgia where the situation of stray animals are in need of immediate assistance.
From 28 November 2020, stricter restrictions were enacted in the country again, leaving homeless animals without food again.
For them, winter is the most difficult period to move. Every day they have to fight hunger, cold - to survive.
Coping with the cold is especially difficult for a hungry animal.

In March 2020, with the involvement of GSPSA members and volunteers, the program began purchasing food for homeless animals living in the Zugdidi Municipality and providing them daily.

The donation received under the GSPSA charity program "Help the Strays" is very important for stray animals. From March 2020 to date, under the program, GSPSA purchased food worth up to 18,000 GEL, of which up to 9,000 GEL was fully consumed for homeless animals in Zugdidi.

Also, on January 6, 2021, the company "Zoomart", "Wolt" and GSPSA launched a joint charity program "Together to help stray animals." The program provides sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs in the regions, as well as the provision of emergency veterinary care for injured animals and the provision of a rehabilitation period.

Your involvement and help are very important.

Any person can participate in this program to the best of their ability. GSPSA's "Help the Strays" program includes:

  • Targeted fundraising for the organization's account to purchase food and deliver it to stray animals.
