On April 4, 2014 GSPSA issued a written appeal World declaration of animal rights in Georgia, for ratification of animal welfare according to the European Convention, to adopt domestic additional legislative acts in Animal Protection sphere with the request of tightening
On April 4 , 2014 – the international day of homeless Animals, the NGO "Georgian Society for the Protection and Safety of Animals" published in electronic media in Georgian and English languages the appeal to the President of Georgia - Giorgi Margvelashvili, to the Prime-Minister – Irakli Gharibashvili and to the Chairman of the Parliament – David Usupashvil, for ratification of animal welfare according to the European Convention, to adopt domestic additional legislative acts in the Animal Protection sphere with the request of tightening.

Urge Georgian government Ratification of International Declaration of Animal Rights
In the Appeal to the Government GSPSA mentioned:
We hope that new government will not leave this appeal without attention and will not repeat mistakes made during last years, which gave us population destabilization, uncontrolled illnesses, unnatural migrations, extinction of species, increased number of stray animals and increased aggression, misuse of state funds, estrangement and frustration of the animal loving intellectual part of our society, mass and systematic culling of animals with unacceptable methods.
Participating NGOs in this action urge Georgian government and parliament:
1. Ratification of International Declaration of Animal Rights. 2. Ratification of European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals 3. Updating and tightening the legislation about animal protectionWe demand the legislative body, ministries and municipalities to take right and competent decision according animal population control, what will create a basis for local, international and donor organizations to support this job. All of these will help our country to develop and progress.
The full text will be sent to animal protection organizations in Georgia and as well as in Georgia and abroad with international organizations, embassies, consulates. Also to the Government of Autonomous Republic of Adjara and other administrative regions.
